Bug

MacOS Controls

To start off: I'm a few hours into practicing this software, and it is quite impressive! Especially for the price point. Nice work! Down to business: the Inspector Panel keybind does not work on MacOS: the "Cmd+tab" default shortcut is the Mac equivalent to windows "alt+tab" to switch application windows. On Mac, it is a system default that generally overrides applications that try to use it. Maybe it's worth just changing that default for toggling that menu to "opt+tab" or "ctrl+tab". Alternatively, other apps (Cubase, Logic, and Dorico are the ones I'm thinking of) often use "Cmd+1", "Cmd+2", etc. for each of the different common menus, which seems to be a successful choice that mac users generally like (or at least don't have issues with). Additionally, and kind-of a feature request, but also a functional concern: It would be nice to have a preset for the scroll wheel scrolling rather than zooming by default, allowing the editor screen to be panned without right-clicking and dragging. I first launched this program on my laptop (a 2023 Mac M-chip), and it was a practical issue. At least for me, "right" click (two finger press and drag) to move the screen is not ideal on trackpad, as I notice my workflow speed is dramatically faster using a mouse with this software and my trackpad feels clunky and almost unusable. I also had far fewer misclicks when I wasn't clicking the trackpad to pan the camera. Keep in mind, Apple trackpads have no physical click buttons for right or left clicks; it's all done from the trackpad surface. They are very accurate at tracking fingers so it works great for a lot of things, but right-click-then-drag isn't really possible on it to the same extent as a lot of windows-laptops. Most creative apps I use on Mac use the trackpad to scroll as the default. I'm very used to scroll wheel moving the screen up/down, "shift+scroll" moving side to side, and "Cmd+scroll" to zoom in my notation software, DAW, video softwares, and even word-writing software. Always using right click to move the camera makes it feel like I'm playing a game, which isn't necessarily bad, but I think a lot of people agree it's harder to play games on a trackpad for this reason.

Great feedback, thank you so much! We'll look into each of these feedback points and see what we can do to get them onto the application! Ease and accessibility really is our goal, so we're doing everything we can to make these much more accessible. Trackpad isn't even something we've considered as we all have been testing with a mouse, even our mac testers. Thank you again for the feedback, every piece of information is extremely valuable!

Yay! Really, though, the program isn't bad to control! I'm still quite satisfied with my investment in this software, and will absolutely be recommending it :)
