Exporting to video locks the program and takes "3 hours" even on the lowest resolution. This is happening under Golden Gate Mac OS

Hello, thank you for bringing up this issue.
If you could, there's a few things I'd like you to try so we can see if this is a Golden Gate issue or some other device specific issue.
1. True using "WebGPU Renderer." If already on, turn it off. It's experimental and only works with certain devices.
2. Try exporting 2D view.
3. Lower settings in 3D view preferences.
Also you say the program is locked, in the latest version, 1.2.1 the program has a "Cancel" button on video rendering. Could you double check that it's the correct version being used? The version is shown at the top left upon opening the program.
The old render system we had was slow and unstable, we wrote a new one in the most recent update to ensure good videos are produced without taking a long time.

1.2.1. When I try to cancel it doesn't so I have to force quit. WebGPU is off because 3D doesn't even work at all with it on. Even on low settings. Exporting to 2d doesn't work either. Same problem where it stays on 3% and you can't hit the cancel button. You have to force quit.

To help us diagnose this problem, could you send the Marching Mapper Show file (.mmshow) to info@marchingmapper.com?
Also in your terminal paste this script:
echo "===== MM EXPORT DIAG $(date) ====="
sw_vers
uname -m
sysctl -n machdep.cpu.brand_string 2>/dev/null
sysctl -n hw.memsize | awk '{printf "RAM_GB=%.1f\n", $1/1024/1024/1024}'
system_profiler SPHardwareDataType SPDisplaysDataType SPPowerDataType 2>/dev/null | egrep -i 'Model Name|Model Identifier|Chip|Memory|Total Number of Cores|Graphics/Displays|Chipset Model|VRAM|Metal|Power Mode|Low Power|AC Power|Battery'
pmset -g | egrep -i 'lowpowermode|thermals|assertions' || true
echo "----- Disk -----"
df -h / | tail -1
echo "----- App (if installed in /Applications) -----"
ls -la "/Applications/Marching Mapper.app/Contents/Info.plist" 2>/dev/null
defaults read "/Applications/Marching Mapper.app/Contents/Info.plist" CFBundleShortVersionString 2>/dev/null || true
echo "----- FFmpeg encoder probe (app bundle) -----"
FF=$(ls "/Applications/Marching Mapper.app/Contents/Resources/ffmpeg/ffmpeg-mac-"* 2>/dev/null | head -1)
echo "ffmpeg_bin=$FF"
if [ -n "$FF" ]; then
"$FF" -hide_banner -encoders 2>/dev/null | egrep -i 'h264_videotoolbox|libx264|videotoolbox' || true
"$FF" -hide_banner -f lavfi -i color=c=black:s=320x240:d=0.1 -c:v h264_videotoolbox -allow_sw 1 -f null - 2>&1 | tail -20
fi
echo "===== END ====="
Then please copy the output to the same email.
Hopefully this can get resolved! Thank you!
